Valentines' Day Dinner: {Honey Ginger Pork Tenderloin}

Do you look forward to Valentines' Day? Do you have any traditions or expectations?  I'm not much of a flowers, or candy, or even jewelry person.  I usually just request some sort of handwritten note, that I treasure for weeks to come.  Traditions aside, your significant other will thank me later: you should definitely make THIS for Valentines' Day dinner! -->     Guys love this meal. I mean really really love it. Like drool over it. Like beg you to make it again and again. ... Read more » about Valentines' Day Dinner: {Honey Ginger Pork Tenderloin}

Breakfast with a Kick: {Southwestern Biscuit Quiches}

Well my friends, I did it again. (No oops about it). I created a masterpiece that you can customize to your specific liking: biscuit quiches. Similar to my many varieties of greek yogurt banana breads, I will continue to bake and create new varieties of these yummy breakfast beauties in the weeks to come!  After the inaugural Egg & Sweet Potato Biscuit Quiche that Dear Hubby declared to be the "best breakfast ... Best Breakfast: {Egg & Sweet Potato Biscuit Quiches}

Well, I did some math... and Dear Hubby and I have shared approximately 3,000 breakfasts together.  And this weekend (this recipe) he said was the best breakfast I've ever made...in 8 years of marriage.  Those are high compliments, especially since this meal was a bit of a breakfast experiment. I looked in the fridge. I saw what we had. I threw some things together. And BAM: perfection :) And the best part is, they look really beautiful and fancy but are so easy to make.  ... Spilling the beans + {Slow Cooker Pork & Beans}

Well, it's time for me to not only cook the beans, but to spill them too: I've joined the ranks of working moms again...part-time! I started working 3 mornings a week at Babycakes' new Montessori school, while she attends. I really am sooooooo excited for the perfect fit! But not so excited about all the new germs we've been so lovingly introduced to.  We've both been sick for a number of days, and it just makes everything so much more difficult.  I have no energy, and ... Dollhouses, Dump Trucks and {PB&J Muffins}

I was a little worried about moving to the mountains for Babycakes' sake, because I wasn't sure she'd have very many friends or the same opportunities, or that she'd turn out "weird."  But as I said in the recent Home, Sweet Home post, she LOVES it here.  It is all so HER!  She loves snow. She loves bundling. She loves dirt AND wearing dresses. She loves meeting new people and introducing herself. And most of all, she loves exploring.  Even a trip to the mailbox is an adventure...AND a workout! ... Read more » about Dollhouses, Dump Trucks and {PB&J Muffins}

Dirt, Muck, and {Blueberry Oatmeal Bake}

Someone asked me what I did for fun this past weekend. I answered, "We don't have fun anymore." A bit snarky. A bit true. Unless you call house projects and fixing things fun!  There is still so much to be done to settle in to our new house that the last thing we can think about is fun. On that note, during the "free hours"      I normally would have to work on new recipe development, cooking, photographing beautiful food for the blog, etc... I am instead ... Settling in: slowly but surely

We finally moved in to our new mountain house...on New Year's Eve. For those of you who haven't read my blog for very long, this whole house-buying / moving process has been a super long ordeal (almost 6 months), with lots of tears and anger and thankfulness all wrapped in to one.

Merry Christmas & Babycakes' Sweet Voice

I know. I know. I'm supposed to be taking a holiday break from bloggingAnd for the most part, I REALLY AM. I've focused on family and the upcoming changes ahead for us, spent time on vacation visiting my folks, perused the stores to pick out meaningful gifts for each person, found fun stocking stuffers, worked on year-end accounting for Dear Hubby's business, and started packing...again :)  ... A Car Accident + A Holiday Break (from Blogging)

Remember my recent post about my sweet Babycakes, whom I love more than she'll ever know, who lights up my world, who was my inspiration to get healthy, who is my little love bug? Well, I got the call no parent ever wants to hear yesterday:  Babycakes was in a terrible rollover car crash, with my inlaws, and I needed to get the to the emergency room as soon as possible.  ...
