Okay, here comes a confession: sometimes my recipes fail...like big time. Like throw the entire batch straight-into-the-trashcan-fail. Yesterday was one of those days. I was so excited about last week's super successful juicing/baking combo of Good Morning Juice and Carrot Cake Muffins that I sought out to replicate the process with a different set of flavors: a green lemonade plus lemon/lime bars using the pulp. The lemonade was fantastic, but the bars were awful...waaaaaaaaaaaay too much spinach pulp ... Read more » about Baking Fail + {Spinach Lemonade}

This morning Pillsbury shared my Banana Cream Pie Bites with their 2 MILLION fans on Facebook, and quite a few hopped on over to look at the recipe and read a few other blogposts of mine. Soooooooo, WELCOME to all my new readers/fans! I'm so glad you're here. I celebrated my one year blogiversary this week, and honestly feel like I am more on a roll than ever before. I am creating so many awesome recipes -- that there are quite a few waiting in the wings to be posted, and even new key lime pie bites (ingredients purchased, cooking tomorrow). ... I have been juicing for almost two years now. I love what it's done for my body - kickstarting my weightloss, killing my sugar cravings completely, and giving me so much extra energy... But I have a confession: for 2 years, I have always put the pulp straight down the drain. This weekend was different though. For the first time ever, I actually saved the leftover pulp from my "Good Morning Juice" to make into another recipe. And it was such a success and ... It has been WAY too long since I've posted a new juice recipe. Did you know I love juicing? I'm all about juicing for weightloss, for improved health, and to nix sugar. It's how I lost 50 pounds in the first place! And when I've been in a rut with weightloss (which I am currently in), it's good to get back to what I know: juicing + exercise. So I will be juicing more regularly again, creating/posting more juice recipes, AND I will be focusing more on cardio. ... Read more » about Weightloss Rut + {Good Morning Juice}

Dear Hubby started wooing me our freshman year of college in Pittsburgh, where we both started school at Carnegie Mellon University. We met when we were 18 in a class appropriately named: "Interpretation and Argument." Both good things to learn with a future spouse :) We both transferred away from that cold, bleak place within a year: Dear Hubby to Texas, me Boulder. The Univ. of Colorado was such a beautiful and fun place to go to school, with Chatauqua park and the Flatirons just steps away, lively characters on Pearl Street, and a plethora of wonderful restaurants. ... Well it looks as though I've had my first ever blogging snafu in one year of blogging :) I scheduled this post to go live Monday morning but then had too much fun baby-free yesterday that I never finished it. Yep, you read that right... baby-free. My inlaws took Babycakes after church yesterday to spend the night at their cabin, with my MIL driving of course. Dear Hubby and I just stared at each other for about an hour, so unfamiliar with what life should be like with no loquatious toddler....haha! ... Read more » about 6 Slow Cooker Suppers

It's been one of THOSE weeks! My days have been memorable in terms of raising a happy, healthy child. Babycakes is in the middle of her "wonderful twos" and never ceases to amaze me with her intellect, challenge me with her negotiation and reasoning, and drive me absolutely bonkers with her lack of obedience. That sounds nicer than it could have, right? Earlier this week, she exclaimed: "I just LIKE being naughty, Mommy!!" Don't we all...don't we all... And today these rules were created. ...
