Remember the Blend retreat, way back when? If your memory is a little foggy, you should definitely go back and read this post...and this one: an amazing weekend, with amazing ladies, doing amazing things! At this aforementioned retreat, I was a winner! On the last morning after breakfast, they did a raffle and we all went home with something wonderful. My prize happened to be an awesome PRObar hat that Dear Hubby prompty stole and an entire case of PRObars! Cha-chinnnnnnng!

I mentioned awhile back that I wanted to do a couple new fun things with the blog - and one of those is to bring some outside perspectives (every once in awhile) on what others believe to be the essentials for a happy healthy life. I started off my long weekend right with some serious exercise! Afterall, I have some new goals to hit. And in order to hit them, I need to focus on healthy clean eating and moving MORE! These are my new sneaks. --> I love my purple shoes. I love my bright purple laces even more. Dear hubby and I went to REI this weekend because I had a giftcard AND a 20% off coupon- and this is what I walked out with. These running shoes are made by Brooks and are made of that super breathable mesh material. Supposedly they're the most "cushy" of the mesh shoes though, says the shoe saleslady. I took them out for an innaugural run on Sunday, and loved them! If I am going to be serious (which I am!!) about those new goals I set, new sneaks, consistent runs, and less baked goods will do me good!

As many of you know, this weekend was the Blend Retreat in Boulder, CO: a retreat for healhy living bloggers to meet in person, and enjoy good food, exercise, and conversation. It was everything I'd hoped it'd be...and more! I met some amazing women, learned a thing or two about blogging (since almost all of them have been doing this a lot longer than I have!), and got a well-needed break from the craziness of "normal life." Day 1 complete! Here's an honest look at the first day of a Reboot. I woke up excited to start, surprisingly refreshed given the hectic evening a few hours earlier. It was actually the first night I EVER remember writing a to-do list for what I needed to accomplish between 8PM and 11. Whew!! If you don't have 3 minutes a week to spare, you need some serious help. (ie. stop. drop. roll! your life is on fuego!!) A new study came out by the BBC that claims you can get fit(ter) by exercising a certain way for 3 minutes a week. You read that right. Not three minutes a day, even!! 3 MINUTES A WEEK. Whew! I'm tired... but in a good way. I decided today was the day to start my "lunch" exercises and make the most of my mid-day break.
