I'm about 11 days in to my Kickstarter project (out of 60), and about 11% funded. THANK YOU, to the 83 of you who have jumped on board! If you have never heard of Kickstarter, you set a goal that you want to hit and people pledge at various levels and get different rewards based on the dollar amount. As a pledger/buyer, your credit card is not charged until the end of the 60 days (in my case around March 7th), and it's only charged if the full goal is met. ... Dear Hubby and I are just full of changes this year. First I lost 55 pounds. Then, I started blogging (which I'm sooooooo glad I decided to do!). Then, I decided to quit working full-time to stay home with Babycakes. And now, we've decided to pack it up and head to the mountains. Permanently! We've decided to sell our house in the 'burbs, and instead of just looking AT the mountains, we want to be IN the mountains. ... Read more » about Mountains Here We Come

Can you even BELIEVE it's going to be September soon?!?! Though the weather sure doesn't feel like fall is coming... 97 degrees today in Colorado...OUCH! I did, however, spend the weekend dreaming of fall: cooking end-of-summer baked beans and perfecting my pumpkin bread recipe. It took 3 times, but I mastered it. Beautifully. ... You probably don't know this about me, but I grew up in the South, Georgia to be exact. I am a Southern Belle and a connoisseur of Coke. When dining out at a restaurant they'd ask what you want to drink, and you'd say a Coke; then they'd ask you what kind. Sprite, please. Yes all soda was lovingly referred to as Coke. That's what happens when you grow up in a suburb of Atlanta, home of Coca-Cola. Pepsi would never cross these lips!! And the word "pop" was only for what happens to a balloon when it's pricked with a needle. ... Read more » about Soda, Pop, or Coke? + {Cascal Giveaway}

The past few weeks have been especially exciting, as I have had a number of articles written and published in various magazines, websites, and other blogs. Today I want to highlight a few of them so that you can see them too and celebrate with me!

We don't frequent Taco Bell, and as I mentioned in this post, Dear Hubby doesn't really like Mexican food. But he LOVES their double decker tacos. Crunchy layered goodness! So when brainstorming my next vegetarian meal attempt, these came to mind. I saw the MorningStar Farms' Crumbles at Walmart and put them right into the basket. These would be my base. I bought a bunch of other veggies that I thought I could easily disguise, like a frozen veggie combo pack of corn, black beans, red peppers, and onions and a bag of fresh broccoli "slaw" ...
