I'm not sure what was the biggest highlight of Sunday night: a) actually going on a date night and using our Bonefish giftcard that we'd gotten a YEAR earlier, b) fitting into a dress I haven't worn in literally years, c) eating an entire meal at a restaurant without having to "manage" a toddler or dig into my purse 35 times to find something to occupy/distract said toddler, or d) actually talking to Dear Hubby for 2 hours straight with zero distractions. I think I pick e) all of the above!
I made a few sacrifices during dinner:
I left my phone/camera in my purse and didn't take ONE picture of my food. Soooooooo hard!
I left my phone/camera in my purse and didn't check Facebook or email.
I didn't talk about the next vegetarian meal I've been dreaming up for Dear Hubby to eat :)
I didn't email my inlaws to ask how Babycakes was doing, what she ate, how bedtime went, etc...
Here's a pic I snapped before we left for the restaurant...not too shabby!
That pear shape is definitely still there, but I am getting leaner all around... so that's a good thing.
Another highlight of the weekend was this green smoothie I'm about to show you. Think peanut butter. Think chocolate. Think spinach.
Introducing Reese's Spinach Smoothie:
As Cosmo put it: "It's packed full of healthy spinach, but tastes like your favorite candy. Even if you think you hate vegetables, you'll love this one."
Though it has "Reese's" in the name, it's only to describe the flavor combo of the peanut butter and chocolate protein powder...no actual candy is inside. Sorry if I just disappointed you! But, this healthy smoothie TASTES SINFULLY DECADENT. It also contains Greek Yogurt for even MORE protein! I'm usually not a "smoothie person", preferring fresh juices. But, this smoothie was worth getting out of my comfort zone!
Speaking of Cosmo, they featured this super old recipe... and it's gotten tons of attention / traffic, like over 40,000 views. And every time I thought of all the visitors who came and had to see the old ugly photos, I would cringe. So I reshot the recipe this week. I've come so far in my photography since this blog started!!
