And My Super Exciting On-Cloud-Nine News is...

You may have noticed that my blogposts and new recipes have been a bit infrequent over the past couple of weeks/months. And I've been teasing (torturing) you a lot with pretty food pictures and asking for your opinion, like which salad you like better on Facebook: "VOTE: Which salad sounds best to you?       a) Pork Carnitas Spinach Salad + Creamy Kale Ranch Dressing b) Mexican Chop Salad + Honey Lime Vinaigrette c) Jicama Chicken Salad + Blueberry Balsamic Dressing or d) Chinese Chop Salad + Sesame Dressing" or which photo you like better of this Chopped Purple Power Salad.

I was secretly working on my Table of Contents.

For my upcoming Cookbook!!!

And not just an e-cookbook, a real honest-to-goodness printed, available for sale at your local bookstore and Barnes & Noble and Amazon cookbook! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!! This has been in the works since September, but I still can't believe that it's actually happening...and with a blog that's less than two years old. The contracts with the publisher are now signed and things are in full swing. To say that I'm thankful, blessed, and excited would be such an understatement.

A few details:

  • The book should be on shelves around March 2015 (yes, that seems like forever away...I know...but it's totally standard in the industry.)
  • There will be 105 recipes -- spanning every type of meal: weekday breakfasts, leisurely brunches, soups, salads, main dishes, desserts, kid approved/devoured, etc.
  • All of the recipes will center around 10 Superfoods that you already know and love -- like quinoa, chickpeas, sweet potatoes, blueberries, walnuts, etc.
  • The entire book is due at the end of March!!!! <--- so I will be crazy busy for the next 3 months.
  • It will be a full-color printed book with full-page pictures of the recipes, and I get to do all the photography!!!!
  • I will share a few of the cookbook recipes on the blog, once every 2 weeks or so starting in January.

I bought a bunch of new props for the book photography at a local second-hand shop:

Here's the vintage frying pan in action with my {Maple Sweet Potato Hash w/Fried Eggs}:

I will share more book details as things progress and try to give you a behind-the-scenes look into the process, the photography, and my kitchen!

Thank you!!!

...for being such amazing readers/friends and accompanying me (and Babycakes) on this wonderful journey.

From obese to healthy, from hating cooking to publishing a cookbook, wow...how things can change in a couple of years!!
