Before Babycakes: My Struggle to get Pregnant

When the opportunity came up to do a guest post for Ashley (My Food N' Fitness Diaries), I felt it was the perfect time to share my story - one that hasn't been told - of my 3 year struggle to become a mom.  As Ashley said in her recent "Making Some Changes" post, it is one of her biggest dreams in become a mother.  And she is having to make some changes to her lifestyle, her exercise habits, and her nutrition in order to make that a possibility.

My Lovely Mom + Early Mother's Day Celebrations

I'm so excited (!!) because my mom is in town (dad too) for Mother's Day weekend.  I have planned a whirlwind of a day for us to celebrate.  By the time you're reading this, she and I will be perusing the Denver Botanic Gardens, taking beautiful pictures of flowers, sipping mimosas, and RELAXING.  Then we'll be heading to lunch in the chic Denver Highlands, followed by hour massages and facials at a local spa!!  I really am giddy just thinking about our day.  :) You've heard that you can tell ... Parenthood & Dieting are NOT for the Faint of Heart

Well, my faithful blog readers on this journey towards good health with I got nothin'.  No new recipe.  No motivational insight.  No photo documentation of amazing weekend meals.  Nothing except a simple phrase: Parenthood (and Dieting) are not for the faint of heart.  I feel something must be wrong with me personally, because I find it all so hard.  But, maybe it's just that others don't really talk about it.  It's like unwritten code that you can't talk about the ... These are a few of my Favorite Things

I can't help but hum and want to start skipping and twirling through a field when I read those words :)  Am I crazy?  Maybe... But there's something about that song, those mountains, industriously crafting children's clothing from heavy curtain fabrics, etc... that just makes me smile :)              I thought for today's post I'd shake things up a bit and highlight a few of my favorite things (some food/kitchen related, some not). ... Greek Yogurt Blueberry Banana Bread

Last night we had friends over for dinner.  While that might not sound like a big deal to you, to us... to me and my veggie-hating-hubby, it was a big deal.  We were fairly hermit-y before Babycakes, but now that she's arrived we are even more so.  I told Babycakes we were having friends over and she said, "no momma... ... B-Vitamins for Energy are NO JOKE!

I don't like April Fools' Day.  I hate realizing I've been duped and believed something that is just a joke lie.  (Like last year when my friend shared a sonogram on her FB page, to which I responded with some long mushy congratulatory rambling of excitement, only to find out it was a joke.  Seriously though, who jokes about THAT?!?!)  Well this weekend, I discovered something that is definitely NO JOKE.  You've pro ...
