Holiday Tabata Workout: Lower Body Sculpting

Remember the Elf for Health: Holiday Challenge I told you about last week? Well, we are 3 days in, and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!  Each day there are little challenges and you get to interact with amazing other health-minded folks.  It is just what I need to jumpstart my weightloss again and really have fun in this holiday season.  If you haven't already signed up, there's still time to join for Round 2 or 3!

This Week's Challenges:

Monday's challenge was cooking something for #meatlessmonday.  I made an amazing egg scramble with asparagus, roasted red peppers, veggie sausage, tomatoes, and Daiya dairy-free cheddar.

Tuesday's challenge was writing a handwritten note to someone.  I semi-failed on this one...unless you count the letter/drawing to Santa that Babycakes and I drew together.

Wednesday's challenge was to try a new workout that you've never done before.  I had been hearing a lot about "Tabata" workouts - basically high intensity interval workouts, and thought I'd give it a try.  I found a sample and then tweaked it to focus on my lower body...because God knows that's where I need some serious toning!!

Introducing the Holiday Tabata Workout:

It only took me 25 minutes to complete, but was intense and focused just as I had hoped.

Make sense? So, 20 jumping jacks, 10 seconds rest, 20 jumping jacks, 10 seconds rest... eight times.  I'm seriously bad at counting reps, so I used Babycakes' crayons (8 of them) to visually remind me how many reps I had left of each exercise.  Try it, it works!

2 down, 6 more to go :)
