Goals: Daaaaaaaaaaang, I looked good!!

I never wanted to be one of those people. You know, the ones who let themselves go once they get married. I don't think I did that per se intentionally; but, I definitely didn't get myself in check year after year that I gained weight. As I said in an earlier post, eating just an extra 100 calories a day can lead to a 10 pound weight gain per year.
That's about right... 7.5 years of marriage x 100 calories a day = BAM.. 75 pounds!!!
But, enough about the past. This post is supposed to be about goals and the future.
LONG-TERM GOAL:
- Reach my wedding weight. 139lbs (so, minus 40 from today's initial weigh-in). I would like to reach this by the end of this year, Dec. 31st, 2012... which should be TOTALLY doable. Because, daaaaaaaaaaaaang, I looked good!!
SHORT-TERM GOAL(S):
- Get into the healthy BMI range (instead of Overweight) by May 1st. This translates into a weight of 166lbs (so, minus 13). I will need to lose 1.5 - 2 pounds a week to achieve this... again, should be TOTALLY doable.
- Work out for at least 20 minutes a day. Time for a confession again. I don't enjoy hate working out. There I said it. But I know I "should" and I know it will make a difference in whether I meet these goals or not. SO, I will commit to at least 20 minutes a day through May 1st. I plan to accomplish this differently each day, so some days I will do a workout video in the evening, some days I might run up and down the stairs in my office building over lunch, some days I'll take the dogs on a long walk in the neighborhood, and some days I might split the 20 minutes into two 10 minute chunks. But I will do something cardio or weight-lifting related for 20 minutes EVERY DAY.
- Write a blog post every day. I have a lot to say and by golly, I just think this is FUN!!!!... so I hope you check back often!
And, to end this post, I'd like to share one more wedding pic that I've always been particularly fond of. I just look so skinny-minny from the side :) And look at those thin svelte arms... ahhhh... :)

Here's to an exciting journey ahead!!

I have so many wonderful, happy memories from your wedding day! It was perfect, and these 2 photos remind me that I need to look at your album more often!
Hi,
Hi,
I come across you blog from 'Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead' facebook page and I have to say that I love your blog. I always said that I will not be one of those girls that add some pounds after they get married, but of course it DID happen, I've been married for close to 3 years now and I've added 20 pounds to my weight. I started doing juicing together with my husband so I was able to lose close to 8 pounds. I need to lose at least 10 more pounds and I'll be close to my wedding day weight. I think that your blog will help me on this journey and help me keep it off.
Thanks so much!!!
And congratulations to you on this blog, its great!!
Awww, thanks Lidia!
I'm so glad you're enjoying the blog so much!! And that you realized the weight-gain before you gained 75 pounds like me! Congrats on the juicing and 8lbs lost, that's wonderful!!

All the pics on the blog (except the wedding pics), I take myself with my Nikon D300. I LOVE THIS CAMERA!!! No filters, or cool presets, just a great camera and mediocre photographer :)
