Date Night + {Reese's Spinach Smoothie}

I'm not sure what was the biggest highlight of Sunday night: a) actually going on a date night and using our Bonefish giftcard that we'd gotten a YEAR earlier, b) fitting into a dress I haven't worn in literally years, c) eating an entire meal at a restaurant without having to "manage" a toddler or dig into my purse 35 times to find something to occupy/distract said toddler, or d) actually talking to Dear Hubby for 2 hours straight with zero distractions. I think I pick e) all of the above!
I made a few sacrifices during dinner:
- I left my phone/camera in my purse and didn't take ONE picture of my food. Soooooooo hard!
- I left my phone/camera in my purse and didn't check Facebook or email.
- I didn't talk about the next vegetarian meal I've been dreaming up for Dear Hubby to eat :)
- I didn't email my inlaws to ask how Babycakes was doing, what she ate, how bedtime went, etc...
Here's a pic I snapped before we left for the restaurant...not too shabby!

That pear shape is definitely still there...this momma has hips! But, I am getting leaner all around... so that's a good thing.
Another highlight of the weekend was this green smoothie I'm about to show you. Think peanut butter. Think chocolate. Think spinach.
Introducing Reese's Spinach Smoothie:

Though it has "Reese's" in the name, it's only to describe the flavor combo of the peanut butter and chocolate protein powder...no actual candy is inside. Sorry if I just disappointed you! But, this healthy smoothie TASTES SINFULLY DECADENT. It also features 2 small containers of Chobani Champions - in the Vanilla Chocolate Chunk variety for even MORE protein!

I'm usually not a "smoothie person", preferring fresh juices. But, this smoothie was worth getting out of my comfort zone!

Questions:
- What's your favorite green smoothie combo?
- How often do you do a date night?

Smoothies!
I am more of a smoothie person and I love this one! I make a variation of it with frozen banana instead of the yogurt, and its the perfect solution to those chocolate cravings we all get! Thick, creamy, sweet! I also want to try the powdered PB2 product in place of the regular peanut butter at some point. :))
Yay for date night
Date nights are fun! I started making myself leave my phone alone on date nights too since blogging tends to make me connected to it 24/7 and now i have to get onto the fiance for texting all his boyfriends non stop. Lol.
You look gorgeous in that
You look gorgeous in that dress!! Congratulations!!!! That's really exciting. We love date night, but it would kill me to put my phone away the whole time. But we're pretty serious about spending quality time talking so that's good.
You look fantastic!
What a great feeling to fit into that great dress :). I have a closet full of clothes that need fitting into. I'm feeling like I am having a hard time getting started. Would you recommend a 10 reboot to get the weight loss train out of the station? I feel like I need a kick start!

smoothie
the smoothie sounds great, and I agree with the other comment--I'd try using peanut flour! no extra sugar that way, too (vs PB2). :)
I'm so glad you and your
I'm so glad you and your hubby were able to enjoy a nice date night out! That is definitely necessary! That smoothie sounds amaaaazing! Anything with chocolate + peanut butter wins me over no problem. ;)

You are one hot mamma! I hope you and your hubby have a great night together!
You Look Maaavelous!
Just getting caught up on your posts, You look fab, can't wait to try this drink, thanks for always being inspiring.
you are beautiful! Your self
you are beautiful! Your self-will is to be admired! When you put spinach in your smoothies, does it blend well or does it turn out chunky? I'm a little nervous to try it for fear that it will ruin the blades in my blender
Spinach vs. Kale
The spinach blended beautifully. No chunks AT ALL. I did however, once try to blend up kale and it was AWFUL...so chunky. it was like drinking seaweed...ha! You should definitely try the spinach though. Oh, I always cut off the stems, so it's just the spinach "leaves".
quickie question???
hi there. what type of protein powder do you use? thanks. :)
Sprouts brand
I've been using Sprouts' store brand - Ultimate Soy-Spirulina Protein Powder. It's certified Non-GMO Soy.

Sounds yummy!
This smoothie actually sounds yummy! Do you use natural peanut butter? I'm on a peanut butter kick now and have been making my own. A pound of shelled peanuts with or without the skins. Roast them for 15 to 20 minutes in a 350 degree oven on a cookie sheet. Remove and let cool. Peanuts will continue to cook, so don't roast them until too dark. Put in food processor. Run on high until the peanuts are grandular. Scrape the inside of the food processor to take everything off the sides. Add sea salt in small amounts to taste. Run food processor again on high until the peanuts release their oil and becomes a gooey creation! If still too thick for your liking you can add a small amount of peanut oil (also boosts the peanut flavor). Scrape food processor clean and store in the refrigerator for use. I use this now instead of sweetened jar peanut butter. I even like it better than PB2. And you feel good every time you use it because you know exactly what's in it! Just thought I'd share! Can't wait to try it in this new smoothie!
Yum!
This was awesome; thank you for the great recipe! I used some regular vanilla yogurt I had on-hand, but I'd love to try the Chobani sometime (it looks SO good). I was relieved this came out tasting great, because my first attempt at a spinach smoothie was awful (let's just say it was pretty grassy). No spinach flavor, phew. :)
I love it.
Great recipe !!!!
green smoothies rock
I do a green smoothie every morning.. 2 handfuls of spinach, a banana, some ice, unsweetened almond milk, dash of cinnamon, vanilla or chocolate protein powder. That's the basic go to then sometimes, powdered peanut butter is added and lately a mini cucumber for extra veggies... if no spinach available zucchini works great too!!! ENJOY!
